How to import a US car to Armenia

Clear customs and pay import taxes. On arrival the car is cleared through the State Revenue Committee (EAEU customs), where Armenia's import duty, excise and VAT apply (see the note below).

Pass inspection and approval. Armenia has no EU-style type-approval, but it accepts US left-hand-drive cars: the car needs EAEU vehicle-safety certification (TR CU 018/2011) and a technical inspection.

Register it. Register the car with the Road Police of the MIA (Ճանապարհային ոստիկանություն) to get local plates and documents.
Duty, VAT and taxes

Armenia has no one-time registration or CO2 tax on imported cars — only the recurring annual road tax every owner pays.
