P0325Knock Sensor 1 Circuit (Bank 1 or Single Sensor)

The engine computer watches a knock sensor that listens for engine 'knock' (pinging) so it can adjust ignition timing. This code means the computer sees a problem in the knock sensor circuit on bank 1 (or the only sensor). With the sensor not working, the computer pulls timing back to protect the engine, which can hurt power and fuel economy.

It is usually safe to drive in the short term, but have it diagnosed soon because the engine may run with reduced timing and lost power. A shop will check the sensor and its wiring, and confirm there is no actual knock before replacing parts. On many engines the sensor sits under the intake, so labor can be significant.
